Westinexterior.jpgThe Westin Copley Place turns 30 this year and to celebrate a new decade in Back Bay, the hotel underwent a series of innovative upgrades to bring some new appeal to its digital digs. Dubbed “Westin 3.0”, these initiatives were designed with the busy travel in mind, who has a schedule to keep but appreciates a little downtime.

A few key elements you'll notice right away when walking into the new Westin space include:

  • An “Interactive Wall” that gives guests a visual tour of Boston at the wave of a hand.
  • A "Vertical Garden" in the check-in area that enhances air quality and brings a bit of nature indoors.
  • The new dining concept, “Ingredients”, which is a Gourmet Grab and Go Café. The concept allows guests to create a healthy meal from made-to-order omelets and smoothies, custom salads, fresh sandwiches, and thin crust brick oven pizzas.
  • “Tangent”, a new interactive workspace available to hotel guests and locals needing to hold business meetings with remote participants. Video conferencing, free high-speed wireless internet, floor-to-ceiling whiteboards, printers, and a full suite of office supplies are available.

Of course, a birthday isn't any fun without gifts, so the Westin Copley Place is offering a special anniversary package through the end of the year.

For just $330, the package includes an overnight stay in one of the Hotel’s Deluxe Guest Rooms, breakfast in The Huntington, overnight valet parking, Wi-Fi access and a $30 dining credit at Turner Fisheries credit.

Here's a look at some of the renovations:

Interactive Wall.jpg The hotel teamed up with Romanelli Digital Media, a local media firm, to create the lobby’s Interactive Wall. This state-of-the-art digital wall encourages guests to interact with the hotel and the city, displaying videos and pictures with the wave of a hand.

Westin_Tangent.jpgTangent is the hotel's tech-savvy workplace, which boasts smart technology and intuitive design that makes it easy for groups of up to four business travelers to collaborate with colleagues around the table or across the globe. Tangent at Westin can be booked on demand and is available by the hour. Amenities include televisions, printers, sound systems, Xbox 360® for games or DVDs, floor-to-ceiling white boards, office supplies, wired and wireless Internet for no additional fee.

WestinIngredients.jpgThe new “Ingredients” Gourmet Grab and Go Café is a convenient, healthy dining option for guests on the go. Using fresh, healthy ingredients, the menu allows guests to hand-pick a perfect meal. Breakfast offerings include made-to-order omelets, baked goods, fresh fruit, smoothies, yogurt parfaits, steel-cut oatmeal, and assorted juices, plus Starbucks® specialty coffees and Tazo® teas. Lunch offerings include fresh, custom-made salads, ten-inch thin crust pizzas from the brick oven, grilled panini sandwiches, and gourmet cold sandwiches.

WestinBar10.jpg American bistro Bar10 serves lunch, dinner and creative late night cocktails. The center space can be roped off and draped for private parties, complete with a flat-screen TV and DJ space.
