One of the hardest things to factor into any trip is the cost of food. The cost of dining out is often the thing that pushes travel budgets over the edge. While the best of intentions keep us stuffing granola bars and bags of almonds into our carry-ons, hotel rooms without mini-fridges or suites without kitchen areas means wasted food and a lot of meals out, causing a hole in our wallets and adding inches to the waistline.
So one hotel group is offering up another solution: grocery-delivery service.
Affinia Hotels, a boutique hotel collection with five hotels in Manhattan, is teaming up with FreshDirect, a New York City based grocery delivery service to provide Affinia guests with ready-to-make-meals delivered to the hotel.
Since Affinia hotel guest rooms are fully equipped kitchens and kitchenettes, these ready-to-make meals are easy to keep as leftovers.

There's a "Business Kit" and "Healthy Kit", both of which provide guests with fruits and vegetables, Greek yogurt, chips, salsa and cookies, and a variety of four-minute meals and microwavable options like curried chicken salad and lemon-dill salmon.
These kits are the perfect solution for guests staying longer than one or two days and wanting to enjoy a heathy and quick meal in. The groceries, which start at $50 flat-fee (not including taxes and delivery fees), can be ordered in advance through Affinia’s online e-concierge service, or at the hotel at any time during a stay.
