We've always admired (even if through foggy lenses) the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Now, thanks to their own investments, we can live like them – if only for a night.

From Belize to Vero Beach, Florida, a number of celebrities have added hotelier to their resumes. While the chances of you actually bumping into these famous owners is slim, at least you'll get the satisfaction of knowing your admired A-lister had a hand in picking out your bed pillows. Here are some of the most popular celebrity-owned hotels that are worth checking out:

Palazzo Margherita (Bernalda, Italy) – Francis Ford Coppola: Academy Award-winning director Francis Ford Coppola opened this 19th century palazzo last March. The hotel has seven suites and two garden rooms, and is Coppola’s fifth hotel. He also owns Turtle Inn and Blancaneaux Lodge in Belize, La Lancha in Guatemala and Jardin Escondido in Argentina.

Greenwich Hotel (New York City) – Robert De Niro: Not only is this a De Niro hotspot, but the hotel's bar is one of the most talked about in the city, and its library room is the place to see and see be seen (in secrecy). De Niro’s TriBeCa hotel has 88 rooms and suits, as well as Shibui Spa, and is walking distance from the events of the Tribeca Film Festival, if you happen to score some seats for the big event.

Costa d’Este (Vero Beach, Fla.) – Gloria Estefan: Grammy-winning singer Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio opened the oceanfront resort in 2008, and it's one of my favorite Florida properties, thanks in most part to its secluded location. While the masses descend on South Beach, you can relax amid the soft waves and private pool at this Vero Beach hotel. All the rooms have balconies, but I suggest you reserve an ocean view room so you can enjoy some of the best sunrises on Florida's east coast. Costa d'Este has 94 guest rooms, four suites, and a fabulous Cuban-inspired restaurant.

Bedford Post Inn (Bedford, N.Y.) – Richard Gere: Only a few hours drive from Boston is Westchester, New York, where you can check-in at Richard Gere's boutique eight-room inn. The Bedford Post Inn also features a yoga studio and two restaurants.

Mission Ranch (Carmel, Calif.) – Clint Eastwood: Can't get enough Clint Eastwood? Now you can stay at the ranch that Eastwood built in Carmel, California. Eastwood purchased and restored the 22-acre ranch in 1986 and is known around town for its grand Sunday brunch buffet.
