Completely over-the-top, ultra-luxurious hotel Valentine's Day deals

Can you really put a price on love? Well, the answer really depends on how much you plan on paying. Some hotels are putting Cupid to shame this year with their Valentine's Day offerings. From complete designer makeovers and photo shoots, to 14-carat gold necklaces and rose petal walkways, luxury hotels are pulling out all the stops this year to help you show the one you love just how far your love (and wallet) extends.

We found some of the more exorbitant Valentine's Day deals from hotels around the world for you to ponder on this year. At the very least, you might get a few ideas you can pull off on your own.

To kick off the ultra-luxury and lavish holiday, The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, takes chocolate to an entirely new level:

chocolate.jpgRitz-Carlton, Charlotte: If she has a sweet tooth, this Valentine's Day deal will win her heart. The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte just introduced a new 14-Carat Chocolate Package highlighting the wonder, drama and romance that is chocolate, and so much more. With the package you'll get access to the hotel's popular Bar Cocoa all-dessert dining and culinary school experience, and go home with two treasured keepsakes, including a Le Vian Chocolate Diamond with 14-carat white gold necklace, and a chocolate-hued fine writing instrument from Montblanc. The 14-Carat Chocolate Package at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte is priced at $14,000, includes tax and gratuity and is available on weekends throughout February.

Peninsula Hotel, New York City: If you have an extra $1,500 handy, then the Peninsula Hotel's Valentine's Day dinner package might be for you. The Fifth Avenue hotel is offering only one couple the chance to splurge on a five-course meal and private rights to the hotel's pool. You'll be greeted with a rose petal and candlelit walkway as you make your way to the pool on the 22nd floor, then to your romantic table overlooking New York City. Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills: Hollywood's best kept secret hotel is offering a Casanova’s Valentine’s package that includes two 60 minute spa treatments, a special Valentine’s dinner for two at the award-winning restaurant Culina, Modern Italian and two Four Seasons robes to bring home. Casanova never had it so good. The package is priced starting at $795.00 per night and is valid only on February 14, 2012.

Tucked away in the Allegheny Mountains, the Omni Bedford Springs Resort resort offers breathtaking views, seclusion and privacy. The Sky's the Limit Valentine's Day package is set impress. The over-the-top getaway assures the most blissful Valentine's weekend, starting with private jet transportation (from within 200 miles, which includes Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington, DC) to the resort for you and your sweetie and includes a personal butler, personal chef, private use of the resort's Springs Eternal Spa, a bottle of Dom Pérginon and more. Rates start at $6,000 per night and the package is available February 10-19.

Hacienda San Angel, Puerto Vallarta: Head south of the border for Valentine's Day this year and enjoy a little R&R in the hills of Puerto Vallarta. Hacienda San Angel (also known as "whereRichard Burton purchased a villas as a Valentine’s Day gift for then wife, Susan Hunt") is offering a "Sweetheart Serenade” package, complete with private terrace dinner and mariachi serenade from the cobblestone streets. The “Sweetheart Serenade” package is priced at $1,620 (exclusive of taxes and gratuities).

The Setai Hotel Miami's "Star Style" package includes makeovers by design team Domenico Vacca and Asprey (men are dressed in a fitted Domenico Vacca suit with Asprey diamond and sapphire cufflinks, while women get a Domenico Vacca cocktail dress, shoes and Asprey diamond earrings). You'll take your new look for a professional photo shoot, and enjoy a private champagne tasting with caviar in a two-night stay in the ocean view tower suite.

The Langham Hotel, Pasandena: If $50,000 seems a bit too steep, maybe $30,000 is more to your comfort level. If so, The Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California is offering an over-the-top romance package that includes a custom-designed piece of diamond jewelry from Single Stone of Mission Street valued at $20,000. You'll also get a limousine transfer to and from the hotel, as well as an on-call limousine for use during your stay.

Gstaad Palace, Switzerland: It's clearly not cold enough to be winter in Boston, so why not cuddle up elsewhere else - like in an igloo? The iconic Gstaad Palace hotel is offering an Igloo Experience this Valentine's Day that includes: three nights in a room with views of the Swiss Alps; one night in a romantic igloo at over 6,000 feet in the igloo village of Saanerlochgrat, including dinner with private Jacuzzi and views of the Bernese Oberland; complimentary hotel transfers and roundtrip cable car tickets to igloo village. Rates start from approximately $1,400 USD (CHF 1,320) and is available through March 13.

Step two: Le Meurice's Valentine’s Day Package, which includes chocolates, Champagne, pink macaroons and bouquet of roses upon arrival; daily American breakfast; complimentary access to the hammam, sauna, Jacuzzi and fitness center; and a special Valentine’s Day dinner at Restaurant le Dali or Restaurant le Meurice (available at an added price).
