Still not sure what to do for New Year's Eve? You're not alone. Most people put off thinking about how they'll ring in the new year until the very last minute. For procrastinators with a bit of planning in their blood, I found some last minute New Year's Eve travel deals - pack up and celebrate the new year somewhere special!

Hyatt-penthouse.jpgHyatt 48 Lex: Visit NYC for the famous New Year's Eve celebration and spend the night at the new Hyatt 48 Lex with the "NYE: Up All Night Sleep All Day package." Receive a complimentary bottle of champagne to start your celebration, then spend New Year's Day lounging in the room, ordering room service and relaxing knowing you still have another night to recoup, thanks to the complimentary extra night on 1/1/12. Prices vary for Dec. 31, but for those looking to ring in the new year in style, Hyatt 48 Lex has a pair of Penthouse Suites with private terraces and skyline views still available.

xvbeacon-bed.jpgXV Beacon: A little closer to home, XV Beacon is offering the “NYE at XVB” package starting at $515. Spend a romantic evening in front of your own in-room fireplace or enjoy a festive evening out at Boston’s annual First Night before settling in for the night. The package includes a bottle of Taittinger Champagne, reception in the Wine Cellar, fireworks on XV Beacon’s exclusive roof terrace, brunch for two at Mooo… and late checkout at 2 p.m. If you're not quite ready to go home on Jan. 1, XV Beacon will extend your stay at 15% off the best available rate for each additional night.

Kimpton Hotels Boston: For something slightly less formal, book a room at any Kimpton Hotel in Boston – Nine Zero, Hotel Marlowe or Onyx Hotel. Rates on Dec. 31 start at $269, and rooms are half off the hotel's best available rates Jan. 1.

Harbor View Hotel: The historic Edgartown hotel is hosting a prix-fixe dinner menu at its intimate Henry’s bar followed by a gala New Year’s Eve Party complete with live entertainment and midnight fireworks, followed by Sunday Brunch at Harbor View’s Water Street restaurant on New Year’s Day. Packages at Harbor View Hotel and Kelley House include two party tickets with overnight accommodations and a late check-out of 2 p.m. Rates start at $295 per night at Harbor View Hotel and $249 per night at Kelley House.

Liaison-cap.jpgThe Liaison Capitol Hill: Head to our country's capitol to celebrate the new year. The Liaison Capitol Hill, located just steps from Washington DC's Union Station and the Capitol Building, is featuring a New Year’s overnight package that includes New Orleans circa 1920s-inspired party including a 4-course dinner for two, a live jazz band and midnight Champagne toast. Enjoy a few glasses of the complimentary champagne - the hotel's popular bedside “Hangover Kit” offers a gel mask to ease tired eyes, New Year’s Day bedside brunch voucher for two redeemable, Tylenol and bottled water. Rates are from $359, based on double occupancy.

The Omni Bedford Springs Resort: A side trip to Bedford, PA, can become a new, new year's tradition. The resort is offering a "French Toast New Year's Eve Package" which includes luxury accommodations and dinner for two paired with a bottle of bubbly the night of Dec. 31, and breakfast for two the next morning. The rates start at $505.

Joule Lobby.jpg The Joule: Head south and thanks to the time change, you'll enjoy an extra hour of 2011! The Joule in Dallas is offering a “New Year’s Eve in the City” package that includes deluxe accommodations, complimentary Bottle of Perrier Jouet Champagne, early seating in Charlie Palmer, VIP Access for two in the Penthouse Suite for a New Year’s Eve celebration, complimentary breakfast in bed, and you can extend your stay with a second night at a 50% discount. Mention rate plan NYEPKG2 when booking. Rates start at $899, based on availability.

Wherever you choose to ring in the New Year, do it in style! Be safe and celebrate, and check back here after the first of the year for more travel news and trip inspiration. Happy New Year!
