When the Genzyme Corp. approached its 20th anniversary in 2000, the company decided it needed a central hub that would serve as a reflection of the companys core values.
Designed to be one of the most environmentally responsible buildings in the United States, the Genzyme Center is a 12-story, 350,000-square-foot building. The building was designed by architectural award winners at the German firm Behnisch, Behnisch, and Partner and the space is a mixture of innovative design and technology.
The Center was built from the inside-out, and was designed with a focus to create a positive work environment for employees. The design team created a Center that emphasized natural light, outdoor views, and an open feel. You can see the designs success with the all-glass exterior and soaring internal atrium.
