For more than 40 years, WBZ has been presenting traffic on the threes from its traffic helicopter. Known simply as the WBZ copter, the Robinson-44 craft is smaller than most other traffic helicopters. Each morning, reporter Joe Morgan or one of his braver colleagues sails from Beverly down Route 1 into Boston, out along the Expressway, in above Route 128 and out again over the Pike.
