Police are cracking down on beach-side party-goers in Panama City Beach, giving them two options: behave or wind up in the cage of shame.

Officials are rolling out beach jails -- portable mobile booking units complete with a juvenile detention unit, to help manage the expected swarm of 250,000 to 300,000 college students.
The idea is to encourage spring breakers to obey the law. Spring breakers who break the law wind up in the mobile unit where the police can process them without having to make the two-hour round trip to the station. And, judging from the reported arrests, police would be logging many miles making trips.
Since March 7, police in Panama City Beach have made more than 200 arrests for underage drinking, public intoxication, DUI, and other spring break-related offenses, reports the Associated Press.
