If you don’t get invited to the annual White House Easter Egg roll, take heart, it’s a select group. But the Mayflower Renaissance Washington, D.C. Hotel in the nation’s capital is hosting an Easter event that honors its 88th birthday by hiding a total of 88 decorative Easter eggs in randomly selected guest rooms, up to 12 eggs a day. Guests can check out their rooms and if they find an egg, turn it in for either an adult or kid-friendly Easter basket. Prizes include Marriott Reward Points, a free cocktail at the new Edgar Bar & Kitchen, a milk-and-cookie turndown, bag of candies, chocolates and other gifts. During the course of the Easter Egg Hunt Week, five golden eggs will be hidden and if found, qualify the holder for a free future two-night weekend stay.
Rates start at $159 a night from March 24-31. And it’s close to the White House, so if you do land tickets to the April 1 Easter Egg roll on the president’s lawn, you won’t have far to go. For reservations, visit www.mayflowerrenaissance.com
