This weekend’s American Craft Council’s 37th annual Baltimore showcase is the only time you’ll find more than 800 of North America’s best crafts artists gathered at the same time in one place indoors. And heed in-the-know advice and take the full three days (2/22-24) to see it all before buying the latest hand-crafted creations from glassblowers, potters, jewelry designers, fashion designers, furniture makers, wood, metal, and mixed media artists from across the country. The juried event -- the unofficial kickoff for crafts artists’ new year of shows -- also features lectures and crafts artists demonstrations. There are also invited exhibitors from the Society of North American Goldsmiths and Surface Design Assn. The event occupies the Baltimore Convention Center, 1 W. Pratt St., Fri. 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sun. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission $16, three-day $28, after 5 p.m. Fri. $5; (cq) ACC members and children under age 12 free. www.shows.craftcouncil.org/baltimore for list of participating craftspeople and photos of their work.
