JetBlue, which offers free DIRECTV seatback service on all flights, is offering a $1drink deal on Super Bowl XLV Sunday. The discount carrier says that the annual championship contest is its biggest inflight viewer event, estimating that more than 50 percent of customers will be watching the game on its more than 200 scheduled flights. To help traveling sports fans get in the spirit, JetBlue will cut the price for a first beer, wine, or cocktail starting at 6:30 p.m. ET to $1 from the normal price of $5.
Besides JetBlue, Virgin America also offers TV service. And most carriers now offer WiFi access on many flights so fans can catch the game online. But JetBlue is first out of the box with a drink deal. Any other takers?
