Portland, Maine makes least attractive list

Portland, Maine was able to beat out Boston (but not Providence) in Travel and Leisure's annual "America's Favorite Cities" survey when it comes to microbrews. However, the city received another not-so-prestigious honor with a No. 7 nod in the category rounding up America's least attractive people.
"Portland is a survey newcomer that didn't fare so well in this category. Perhaps these Maine residents don't impress because they're a blur of blandness: this lobster-loving town ranks last (No. 35) for diversity. And a lobster bib clearly doesn't count as a good look: locals rate No. 31 for their style. At least they're a tame crowd: the city ranks second for safety and, perhaps more enticing, No. 5 for a microbrew."
Ouch. Portland finished 29th out of 35 cities with a score of 3.90 in the category. Boston didn't fare much better, with a score of 3.92, good for only 25th. Providence finished 15th.
Boston finished highest in the classical music category (No. 2), while Portland and Providence also peaked at No. 2 for safety and theater/performance art, respectively.
