Vermont's Northeast Kingdom celebrates old and new at the Caledonia County Fair in Lyndonville. The 165-year-old tradition includes exhibits ranging from maple, poultry, and rabbits; boasts a lively stage of country music; woos the kids with magic and balloon shows; and offers concessions of fry dough, candied apples, and hand cut fries.
The fair also caters to the kids with games, children's activities, midway, horse show, and demo derby. Special shows include Haflinger horses, white tigers, and a Back in Black tribute to AC/DC. The fair runs Aug. 25-29, and you can look online for complete schedule. General admission tickets are $15 and are good for unlimited rides on the midway and free admission to grand stand shows with grand stand seating (when seats are available.)
