This Sunday, May 30 is all about finding the best chowder and accompanying beer at Waterville Valley's 21st Annual Chowderfest and 1st annual Microbrewfest. From noon to 5 p.m. guests will hunker down with 10 bowls of chowder made from local restaurants, with the end goal of crowning this year's "Golden Clam Award" to the best cup. To accompany the rich, briny vessels will be cold pints of New Hampshire's best summer microbrewed ales. Besides food and drink, the fest also will feature live music, magic, balloon fun, face painting and sand art. It will only cost you $7 per person to partake is such summer fare and fun, and $5 for those 12 and under. Event goes on rain or shine, so pack accordingly.
