Things went so well last year, they’re doing again: The 2nd Annual Taste of Block Island is slated for June 4-6 on the tiny island with the big flavor off the coast of Rhode Island, with dozens of restaurants, shops and galleries participating over the three-day run of the event. There will be gallery openings, nature walks and cooking classes as well as shopping discounts, hotel deals, restaurant specials and wine tastings.
Taste of Block Island buttons will be available for $5 each, entitling the wearer to said discounts and deals. They will be sold at the Block Island Chamber of Commerce near the ferry landing on the island, or at any Interstate Navigation Block Island Ferry location.
Dining discounts can be had all over the tiny island, from a 25-percent break at the majestic hilltop Atlantic Inn to a free fountain drink at Bethany’s Airport Diner, a quintessentially quaint tiny airport eatery in the middle of the Block.
The Spring House is offering a mixology class for $15 per person; there is the opening of the Spring Street Gallery with appies and wine, and the Abrams Animal Farm is offering a free-guided tour. Old Harbor Bike Shop offers a free bike-tuning workshop, Diamondblue Surf Shop has a $15-per-person Sunset Standup Paddleboarding Tour of Great Salt Pond, and Finn’s Seafood Restaurant and Fish Market is hosting a daily “Everything you wanted to know about lobsters” session from noon to 3 p.m.
