The recent two-plus feet of snow that buried Vermont last week came just in time to support the Trapp Family Lodge's Annual Relay for Life Nordic-style this weekend, March 6-7. There will be no better reason to strap the skis to the roof and head into Stowe this weekend, as you and the hundreds of others gathered, will combine efforts to fight cancer. This event is the only Nordic-style relay in the country where winter enthusiasts will snowshoe or cross-country ski to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Team USA's strong showing in the sport should provide ample inspiration as well. If you think you'd like to extend the weekend even further, consider heading up on Friday and make the Crain's Comedy Cancer Crusher event from 7-10 p.m. at the Inn at the Mt. Fireside Tavern in Stowe. Tickets are $25 per person for the 18+ show and can be reserved by phone at 802-872-6304. The weekend is filled with hope, vitality and opportunities to remember and share how cancer has affected your life. And because cancer never sleeps, the Relay is an overnight 24-hour event. Rest up!
