Every January people make the resolutions to clean out and clean up. And here's more motivation for you to get to those boxes of old photos and weed through them. Black Mountain in Jackson, N.H. is celebrating their 75th season by hosting their 2nd Annual Retro Day this Saturday, Jan. 31. Bring your photograph of Black Mountain pre-1980 and receive $10 off your lift ticket for each decade back the photo belongs. Suddenly those snazzy pics of skiing all Hippie-like are worth money! And hey grandpa, pre-1950 photos get you a free ski pass, and many bragging rights that you still have the knees to take the moguls.
Black Mountain is still an independant, family owned and operated mountain, and claims to be the oldest ski area in the state and one of the oldest in the country. Spend the entire day and enjoy a special "vintage’' menu in the Lostbo Pub, featuring cocktails and dishes popular in the 1930’s. There will be live music, vintage style of course, with "Tin Can Tele," out of Portsmouth, N.H. Prizes awarded to best vintage outfit, best vintage gear, best Black Mountain photo, funniest Black Mountain Story/memory, Black Mountain trivia games and all participants of the retro event will be entered into their grand prize drawing.
