One doesn't necessarily equate autumn with parades, and that is exactly why the Annual North Adams Fall Foliage Parade is in its 53rd year...who else is having parades in the fall? This Sunday, October 5 over 16 marching bands, over 15 floats, and various marching units descend upon North Adams and pack the streets with music, color and excitement.
The day begins with a pancake breakfast with all the fixings, glides into a Parade-side BBQ at noon and all this food supports all those signed up to run in the Annual 5K road race starting at 12:30 p.m. The proceeds from the race benefit the Newspapers in Education project. The parade starts at 1 p.m. Children's activities, special sales and a fall farmers market complete the scene.
