Imagine yourself surrounded by mountains of cherry red, yellow ochre and robust orange. The crisp chill of September air on your cheeks. Bluegrass bands and brass orchestras in the distance, and at your fingertips are Vermont made wines, cheeses, specialty foods, art and craft. It’s no dream, it’s time for Mount Snow Valley’s 1st Annual Vermont Life Wine & Harvest Festival.
Vermont Life Magazine, together with the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce, created a venue for state-produced wines, cheeses, and all things green mountain, to rendezvous in a picturesque Vermont town readily accessible to those from the Boston and New York metros, adjacent states, as well as, keep it convenient to all Vermonters.
The weekend long event provides many authentic Vermont experiences. Friday night begins the Festival with the “Welcome to Vermont BBQ and Bluegrass” featuring The Stockwell Brothers band, and finishes strong with Sunday morning’s “Indigenous Vermonter Breakfast”, featuring products made from central Vermont’s own smokehouse, Vermont Smoke and Cure. Festival-goers will be able to meet and speak with chefs, farmers and visit with artisans showing pottery, paintings, photography, jewelry and more.
Noteworthy events include five area country inns hosting special wine pairing dinners highlighting native ingredients, seasonal fare and samples from 9 of Vermont’s 14 wine labels. These special dinners welcome additional participation by staffers from Vermont Life Magazine, The Vermont Grape and Wine Council, The Vermont Cheese Council and Vermont Smoke and Cure, providing diners with unique information to fuel any Foodie’s passion.
