A night out in the South End
Jazz it up at Wallys Café
Opened in 1947 by Joseph "Wally" Walcott, this bar and jazz club is an icon in music circles. In fact, the Bostonian Society deemed it "the last surviving reminder of Boston's jazz heyday."
You can still catch live music there seven nights a week, with everything from blues to Latin jazz to open jam sessions. And, aspiring student musicians from nearby Berklee often take the mike.
