Lucky enough to have a three day weekend? Need somewhere to take the kids for their day off? Work in the Fenway area and looking for something to do on your lunch break?

You're in luck. From 10 AM until 4:45 PM this afternoon, the MFA is free. That's right - free, no admission required. The museum is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Fenway Alliance 'Opening Our Doors' program and thanks to the Boston Foundation, you can enter the galleries at no cost.

MFA.jpgI know, I know, it's not technically nightlife - but free is free, and I wanted to share the exciting news!

So go check out the new Art of America's wing, or take the kids to one of the ongoing family art-making activities throughout the galleries. Christian Marclay's The Clock will be screening from 10 AM until 4:45 PM in the Loring Gallery and the Boston Ballet will be performing excerpts from The Second Detail at 11 AM and 1 PM in the Remis Auditorium.

For a complete list of the day's events, check out the MFA website. Click here for more details on the free admission day.

It's a gorgeous, fall New England day - if you're not stuck in the office, take the E line to the MFA stop and go do some wandering!
