Runners: Don your best holiday speedos and Santa hats for the annual SSRun (commonly known as the Santa Speedo Run), which will hit Boylston Street on Saturday, Dec. 14. This event began in 2000 when a few Bostonians were trying to revel in the holiday spirit by taking part in a run through the Back Bay, wearing only Santa hats and their speedos (or other types of suits). Since that day, the SSRun has become an annual holiday tradition that attracts almost 700 runners each year, and has raised more than $1.4 million for local children in need. This year’s event will benefit the Play Ball Foundation. will cover the event throughout the day with a live blog before, during, and after the run, as well as extensive photos and video of the runners in their holiday finery. Visit's home page for updates, and follow #SSRun on Twitter to keep up with the latest happenings there.
