Connecticut native Miss USA Erin Brady was online Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. to chat about her work as Miss USA as well as the Susan G. Komen Massachusetts Race for the Cure, taking place on Sunday, Sept. 29. She is in town with New Balance to spread awareness of breast and ovarian cancer ahead of the event. Brady won the title of Miss USA 2013 on June 16 in Las Vegas, Nev. The 25-year-old from East Hampton graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in finance and a minor in criminal justice. She was the first person in her family to obtain a college degree.
As Miss USA, Erin will be a spokesperson for breast and ovarian cancer education, prevention and awareness, and will work closely with organizations such as Gilda’s Club, Susan G. Komen and the National Ovarian Cancer Alliance, among others.
