Strawberry Margarita Cupcake from Kickass Cupcakes

We don't need an excuse to sip on a tangy, refreshing margarita, but just in case you do, here's one -- National Tequila Day. There are plenty of creative choices in Boston. For ideas, check out our gallery on Mid-Summer Margarita Madness. Olé Restaurant Group observes the occasion with Tacos & Tequila, featuring a prix-fixe pairing menu. For a really sweet way to celebrate, go to Kickass Cupcakes and indulge in a Strawberry Margarita Cupcake. The confection is made of vanilla cake with a tequila-infused strawberry center, strawberry tequila icing, and (of course) a pinch of kosher salt.

Tacos & Tequila July 24, 5-11 p.m. $25. Olé Mexican Grill, 11 Springfield St., Cambridge. Zócalo Cocina Mexicana, 35 Stanhope St., Boston.

Kickass Cupcakes 11 a.m.-7 p.m. 378 Highland Ave., Somerville.
