Ladies (and your gentlemen friends) -- it's time to hit the town! Celebrate the release of "Sex and the City 2," and the return of Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha to the screen, with the following events and specials in our fair city. Looking to keep the party going and hit the town like the fearsome foursome? For starters, check out these suggestions from Boston.com's Courtney Hollands. (Find movie showtimes.)
Burton's Grill is hosting a premiere party on May 27 to coincide with the film's national release. There will be complimentary snacks from 7 pm - 10 pm in the lounge, themed cocktails for $9, and even a chance to win tickets to see the movie. Which character are you? Samantha: vodka infused with cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple, combined with a special blend of juices. The Carrie Cosmo: strawberry vodka, triple sec, lime and cranberry juice. The Miranda: raspberry vodka mingled with rich Chambord liqueur and fresh raspberries. The Charlotte: a blend of blueberry vodka, blueberry juice, and lemonade. If it's Carrie's main squeeze you're after, there's the Mr. Big Chocolatini: Dutch chocolate vodka, Godiva liqueur, and a touch of cream. Drinks will also be available on May 28th.
Or make like the fancy foursome by sipping specialty cocktails at Church, which has dreamed up four cocktails to suit those femme fatales: The Cherry Tart combines orchard cherries, orange liqueur, and Spanish sparkling wine, the Manolo Blanco is a mix of vodka, white cranberry juice, and lime, the Blueblood combines blueberry, blackberry, fresh fruit juices, and turbinado sugar, while Miranda Rights is a mix of peach, ginger liqueur, fresh lemons, and blackberry liqueur. The Fenway-area restaurant and nightclub is also offering a $10 "Sex and the City" appetizer platter as well as a free dessert if you show your ticket stub from the theater.
The Melting Pot -- with locations locally in Boston, Bedford, and Providence -- is hosting a "Ladies' Night Out - Cocktail Couture" to celebrate the film's release. So grab your closest girlfriends, and for $35 a person munch on cheese fondue, your choice of a petite entree (teriyaki sirloin, shrimp, chicken, ravioli, assorted vegetables, and dipping sauces), chocolate fondue, and a martini (of course).
CBS Scene in Foxboro is also putting on a Ladies' Night on May 27th from 7 pm - 9 pm, complete with cocktails (Carrie's Cosmopolitan, Miranda's Mojito, Charlotte's Chocolate Martini, and Samantha's Sangria) as well as giveaways and fun activities. Have a hankering to shop? Nearby Patriot Place will be offering exclusive discounts to guests of the event.
