In case you missed it, I wrote a feature for last week on eight places to get cupcakes around the city. The "cupcake crawl," as we deemed it, generated some serious, sugary debate, with Party Favors and Kickass Cupcakes duking it out for frosted dominance. I was on a sugar high for days.

On Thursday, I received a great email from a native Bostonian who now calls North Carolina home. Mike Centamore was in town for the Sox's opening day, which was, of course, rained out. Instead of crying in his baseball cap, Mike and his wife sprung into action. They attempted to reach all 8 places I featured in the cupcake gallery — they made it to Sweet, South End Buttery, Fiore's and Lulu's:

"What a great idea….a cupcake crawl. My wife and I were immediately excited about checking out the delectable delights of all 8 suggested locations... As hard as we tried, we weren't able to get to all 8 stops. Shame! It was a delicious day!"

Also, Mike suggests that if we're ever down the Cape, we should stop by Cupcake Charlie's in Mashpee for the Lemon Drop, Hostess with the Mostest, and Grammy's Carrot Cake flavors. As soon as the weather warms up a bit more, we're so there.

[We heart cupcakes.]

Any other suburban cupcake locations you love, sweet tooths? Drop me a line or leave us a comment. Happy snacking!
