Have a retro day in Boston

Put another dime in the jukebox, baby Make that 50 cents. Mark Romano always knew he wanted a jukebox at Highland Kitchen — just like the jukebox he remembered in his father's restaurant in West Virginia. 'People play the familiar stuff like Otis and Aretha, but once in a while someone will come in and play Kris Kristofferson,' the chef and owner says. The well-curated and changing selection includes albums from Romano's collection as well as picks from the bartenders. Some choices on a recent night: 'Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad' (Tammy Wynette), 'Beggars Banquet' (Rolling Stones), and 'Grievous Angel' (Gram Parsons). 'I wanted it to feel like you were at someone's house, looking at the record collection,' Romano says. 150 Highland Ave., Somerville. 617-625-1131. www.highlandkitchen.com
