Boston College lost to #21 Wake Forest 2-0 in Newton on Saturday and dropped to 1-1-1 on the season.

Andy Lubahn opened the scoring for the Demon Deacons in the 28th minute off a feed from Luca Gimenez. Gimenez assisted on Wake Forest's second goal too, setting up Jarred Watts for a goal in the 75th minute.

BC junior Cole DeNormandie, who trained with the New England Revolution this summer, was stopped on a breakaway by Wake Forest keeper Andrew Harris in the third minute.

The Eagles went down a man in the 71st minute when sophomore Derrick Boateng got red carded.

Harvard men's soccer lost its season opener 3-0 to Iona last Friday in Cambridge.

Samuel Adjei (10th minute), Ignacio Maganto (79th), and Franklin Castellanos (80th) all netted for Iona in Harvard's worst season opening loss since a 4-1 decision to Tufts on Oct. 3, 1951.

In Division III action, the Brandeis men's soccer team edged rivals Babson at Gordon Field in Waltham. Senior midfielder Kyle Feather scored from long range following an error by Babson's backline to help the 19th ranked Judges improve to 4-0-0.
