Milton Rodriguez scored in the 77th minute to give FC Dallas a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC yesterday.

The goal, assisted by David Ferreira, came after Dallas gained a corner kick on Toronto’s sloppy defensive play.

Maicon Santos scored in the 61st minute for Toronto.

Toronto is unbeaten at home this season at 5-0-4 and is 6-5-5 overall. Dallas is 6-2-8.

Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman made a great save in the 23d minute, tipping a shot off a free kick by Dwayne De Rosario. Hartman came up with another big save in the 45th on Chad Barrett.

Hartman stopped De Rosario’s header in the 58th minute and Santos could not get the rebound. Three minutes later, Santos scored on a pass from Julian de Guzman. It was the first MLS goal for Santos for Toronto after he was picked up from Chivas USA July 9.

Crew 3, Dynamo 0 — Emilio Renteria scored a gift goal in the first half and William Hesmer had his second straight shutout and eighth of the season as host Columbus defeated Houston.

Andy Iro scored in the 84th minute and Leandre Griffit, two minutes into his MLS debut, added another in the 90th.

Renteria took advantage of a blunder by Houston backup goalkeeper Tally Hall in the 34th minute. Hall backpedaled as he tried to field a ball outside the penalty area and fell. Renteria picked up the loose ball and scored easily.

Chivas USA 1, Real Salt Lake 1 — Real Salt Lake ran its franchise-record home unbeaten streak to 19 regular-season games.

Ned Grabavoy scored for Real Salt Lake on a stunning left-footed volley in the 67th minute; Jesus Padilla equalized for Chivas three minutes later on a blast from the top of the box.
