Magee sparks Red Bulls' victory over Wizards

Mike Magee scored in the 25th minute to give the New York Red Bulls a 1-0 victory over the Kansas City Wizards last night in East Rutherford, N.J.

Goalie Jon Conway, filling in while Tony Meola recovers from a bacterial infection in his foot and ankle, made four saves in posting his third straight shutout for New York (5-6-8). Bo Oshoniyi had five saves for Kansas City (6-11-2) .

Magee's goal came after rookie defender Marvell Wynne got the ball near midfield and passed it to midfielder Seth Stammler.

FC Dallas 1, Real Salt Lake 0 -- Abe Thompson scored his first goal of the year in the final minute of FC Dallas's victory over host Real Salt Lake.

Thompson beat defender Nikolas Besagno down the right side and forced goalkeeper Scott Garlick to come out of his net. Thompson played the ball around Garlick and scored in the 90th minute.

Crew 1, Galaxy 1 -- Columbus's Eddie Gaven and Los Angeles's Peter Vagenas scored in the game's first 14 minutes in a tie in Columbus, Ohio.

United 1, Fire 1 -- Alecko Eskandarian scored in the 76th minute to lift D.C. United into a tie with Chicago in Bridgeview, Ill.
