The New England Revolution added two players on Wednesday, signing former University of Connecticut defender Jossimar Sanchez and trading for midfielder Daigo Kobayashi.
The Revolution drafted Sanchez in the fourth round of the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft. He played in 74 games for UConn and was team captain for two seasons.
The Revolution traded a fourth-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft to the Vancouver Whitecaps for Kobayashi. Kobayashi played 30 games for Vancouver in 2013, his only MLS season. He also spent 12 seasons in Japan’s J-League.
Also Wednesday, the Revolution announced forward Jerry Bengston was called up to the Honduras national team for its friendly against Venezuela on March 5 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He will rejoin the Revs in Houston on March 6.
