Volleyball players of the week

Caitlin Kearney, Archbishop Williams — The senior libero’s 57 digs last week fueled the Bishops’ five-game win streak, all of which ended in straight sets.

Avery Devoe, Canton — The senior middle hitter had a busy week for the undefeated Bulldogs (7-0), delivering a total 44 kills, 9 blocks, 7 aces in three matches. Devoe finished the week hitting .460

Autumn Harrison, Cambridge – The setter propelled the Falcons (7-3) over Malden in straight sets with 21 assists. The junior finished the week with a combined 72 assists.

Erin Cox, North Andover — The two-year All-Conference player collected 51 assists in two games last week against Methuen and Haverhill, securing a seven-game win streak. Coach Veronica Schaefer credits Cox with “increasing her teammates’ mental game and challenging them to step up their attack speed and try new things.”

Jaclyn Wescott, Hamilton-Wenham — Returning to the court for the first time this season was coach Jen Flynn’s junior captain. Wescott was recovering from an injury, but regardless, displayed practically flawless passing and digging, said Flynn.

Erin Abdallah, Case — The junior has 40 digs, 7 aces, and a 93 percent passing percentage in three matches last week.

Kate Lipka, Bishop Fenwick—The senior captain tallied 46 kills last week against Matignon, Lynnfield, and Cardinal Spellman to help improve her squad to 8-1 for the second spot in the Top 20 rankings.
