HUDSON — Saturday was a night of redemption for the Milford boys’ volleyball team.

The Hawks’ last loss — and only loss of the regular season — was April 25 to the Lawrence Lancers. Since then Milford has won 12 straight games, but the 13th was special.

In Saturday’s semifinals at Hudson High School, the Hawks were able to get revenge on the Lancers, beating them in five sets to advance to the state championship game for the second consecutive year. Milford lost to Cambridge, 3-2, in last year’s state title game.

After trading the first four sets with Lawrence, (25-22, 17-25, 25-15, 22-25) Milford closed it out with a thrilling 15-13 triumph in the final frame.
