Malden Catholic rallies to stop Plymouth North

Plymouth North's streak of 31 wins came to an end at the hands of the Malden Catholic baseball team yesterday.
The Lancers (3-3) were trailing, 6-2, in the bottom of the seventh, but rallied to win. The win was the Lancers' second in three games over reigning state champions - BC High (Division 1) and Plymouth North (Division 2).
The rally started with two consecutive walks and a two-run double by junior catcher Justin Sencabaugh. Freshman Anthony Carbone drew a walk and the next three batters hit run-scoring singles, the last coming from senior Shawn Kelly, whose pinch single to center brought home pinch runner Greg Crovo.
Bishop Feehan 12, Martha's Vineyard 5 - Ryan Lee was 3 for 5 with three RBIs, including his third home run of the season.
Pentucket 12, N. Reading 4 - Dan Johanson was 2 for 3 with four runs and Chris Modlish was 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs. Modlish also went the distance, allowing five hits.
Wilmington 10, Ipswich 0 - Senior captain Ryan Searles, who is batting .500, was 3 for 4 with two runs.
O'Bryant 2, Weymouth 1 - Matt Horan pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and no earned runs. Shawn Jaglall drove in both Tiger runs.
Lawrence Academy 16, Governor's Academy 6 - Joe Napolitano was 4 for 4 with three doubles and six RBIs.
BC High 10, DeMatha (Md.) 3 - Brendon Collins and Brandon Cipolla both went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
Arlington Catholic 6, St. Mary's 5 - Julie Caccavaro scored three goals to push the Cougars past the Spartans.
Austin Prep 13, Lowell Catholic 9 - Siobhan Duran scored four times and Mary Kate Sandrose and Kathryn Daigle had three goals each for AP.
