WOBURN - Junior forward Alexandra Cellucci scored in the last 11 seconds to help Belmont post a 3-3 tie with third-ranked Woburn last night in a girls’ hockey matchup at O’Brien Arena in Woburn.

Seventh-ranked Belmont (14-3-1) remains a half-point behind Woburn (14-2-1) in the Middlesex Large League. Both teams have clinched berths in the state tournament.

Trailing, 3-1, Belmont closed the gap with a third-period goal by senior forward Caroline McCarthy, with assists from Erin O’Donovan and Cellucci.

“Coming back is huge against Woburn,’’ said Belmont coach Mark Haley. “We played well in the first, slow in second and in the third, we dominated the same way we played the first time. We just keep coming.’’

Woburn dominated in the second period with senior forward Bryana Harron scoring for the 1-0 lead.

“After the second period, we said ‘We have a big hole but we can come back and do it’ and they’ve done it all season,’’ Haley said.

The Tanners’ top scorer, junior forward Kayla Smith, netted a goal to stretch Woburn’s lead to 2-0.

Belmont senior forward Shannon Reynolds scored off a pass from junior forward Catherine Noone to close the deficit to 2-1.

Tanners junior defender Cassandra Connolly gave Woburn a 3-1 lead on a power-play goal in the last minute of the second period.

But the third period belonged to Belmont as Woburn could do nothing to stop the Marauders’ comeback.

Duxbury 3, Hingham 0 - The Green Dragons, the defending Division 2 champions, beat defending Division 1 champ Hingham with a goal each from underclassmen Ally Hamel, Meredith Wright, and Marissa Fitcher. Sophomore goalie Rachel Myette made 26 saves in the shutout.
