After edging Algonquin for the South Sectional title, the Barnstable girls werent going to allow any suspense the next week at the state meet. The Red Raider gymnasts took care of business, winning their third straight title and seventh in nine years, recording a 144.75 score to second-place Masconomets 143.65. This is one of the most talented squads Ive ever coached, said Barnstable coach Duncan Chase. And Chase needed that talent. Four of the eight teams in the state fi nal scored better than 140 points. Its an amazing feeling, said junior Leah Pacheco.
