4. St. John's Prep rules land, water
At least this time the Eagles let a little drama into the state swim meet. In the first race at Harvard, Lincoln-Sudbury's 200 medley team beat St. John's foursome by 0.12 seconds. Would this be the year the streak ended? The answer was no. Led by wins in the 200 and 400 free relays, as well as individual wins by Aaron Athanas and Ryan Fortin, St. John's won its sixth straight MIAA Division 1 title. And when February turned to March, it was the basketball team's turn. led by Notre Dame-bound Pat Connaughton, Prep beat St. John's (Shrewsbury) for the Division 1 title. Who said it was a bad winter?
