In another fitting tribute to the oldest public high school rivalry in the nation, Needham and Wellesley took their 120th meeting into overtime yesterday before a 6-yard touchdown run by Jean Baptiste clinched a 20-14 victory for the Rockets.

Needham improved to 5-6 and the Raiders dropped to 4-7. Wellesley still leads the series, 58-53-9.

The Rockets flew out of the gate with a touchdown in the first quarter, a 48-yard strike from Andrew Roy to Craig van Allen. The Raiders responded in the second frame with a 3-yard touchdown run by Peter Jennings, and Roy gave Needham the edge again with a 3-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Wellesley, however, responded when Brendan Brooks fired a 45-yard pass to Eric Rosenberg in the third quarter to tie the game at 14.

After a scoreless fourth quarter, Baptiste settled things in overtime.
