Girls' basketball players of the week
Nicole Boudreau, Andover - With two 30-plus-point performances last week, the senior guard became the 29th female basketball player in Massachusetts to score her 2,000th career point. Boudreau eclipsed the mark late in the second quarter of a big win over Central Catholic Friday.
Jess Halford, Nantucket - With 27 points, the senior became the school’s all-time leading scorer last week in a win against Cape Cod Academy. She netted 43 points in a loss to Cohasset the next day.
Heather Gates, Brimmer and May - The junior point guard scored her 1,000th career points last week, making her the second girl to reach that mark in school history. She scored 104 points in five games this week.
Ashley Lutz, Lincoln-Sudbury - Lutz recorded 12 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Concord Carlisle Tuesday and followed that up with 16 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Acton-Boxborough Thursday.
Colleen Kane, Arlington - The senior became the second player in Arlington High School history to score her 1,000th point with a 16-point performance against Winchester.
Olivia Lyons, Belmont - The junior recorded 25 points, 34 rebounds, and 4 blocks last week.
Cat Costello, Lexington - The senior guard had 13 points, 9 assists, 6 steals, and 6 rebounds in a win over Winchester Tuesday. She followed that up with 21 points and five steals against Belmont Friday.
