When Michaela Adams walked into the gym at Blue Hills Regional Technical School her freshman year, the first thing that caught her eye was the banner hanging on the wall with the names of the school’s 1,000-point scorers in girls’ basketball.
But one name stood out: Jen Murray, the leading scorer in school history with 1,323 points, set in 2001.
“The first day when I came in here as a freshman, at open house, I looked at the banner and said, ‘I want to be up there,’ ” Adams said.
The senior guard entered Monday’s home game against Upper Cape just 25 points from surpassing Murray. But she didn’t know that. In fact, no one knew except coach Tom McGrath.
