Girls’ high school basketball stars of the week


Reading, Olivia Healy — The senior guard/forward continues to impress. Healy scored a season-high 42 points Tuesday and also shattered the Rockets’ school scoring record of 1,547 set by Brian Wilson 1985. The senior sits on 1,568 points with two weeks of the regular season remaining and the tournament approaching.

Kalya Burton, Newton South — The point guard posted 58 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists in wins over Waltham and Lincoln-Sudbury last week.

Norma Waggett, Gloucester — Waggett registered 40 points and 13 rebounds in a Northeastern Conference win over Saugus Friday.

Jen Gemma, Fontbonne — The senior guard scored 31 points and collected 12 rebounds in the Ducks 5-point victory against Fenway on Friday.

Ashley Lutz, Lincoln-Sudbury — The senior forward averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds last week for the Warriors.

Jade Moore, Cathedral — The sophomore point guard registered 13 points, including her 1,000th career point. She also posted 28 points and 11 rebounds on Sunday.

Molly Bent, Barnstable — The sophomore scored 36 points, including the winning basket with one second remaining in a double-overtime victory over Brockton on Thursday. Bent also had 30 points in a 26-point victory over Pope John II on Saturday.

Sierra Schrader, Bishop Feehan — Schrader scored 21 points, including her 1,000th career point, as the Shamrocks clinched the Eastern Athletic Conference title.
