A hat trick by senior Lily Smith was more than enough for No. 14 Duxbury in a 7-0 field hockey road win against Pembroke on Wednesday afternoon.

Smith now leads her team with 13 goals this season, surpassing her identical twin Katie (12). Katie, who is one of the (9-0-1) Duxbury captains, scored the game’s first goal 18 minutes in to the first half.

“The leaders of the team are very generous. Everyone on the team wants to see everyone succeed,” said Duxbury coach Terry Vandewater said.

Senior Ally Hammel scored the second goal in the first half off of an assist from her co-captain Zoe Griffin.

Griffin also assisted on Lily’s first goal, two minutes into the second half.
