Wellesley boys kick past No. 4 Weymouth, 3-1

Herget Division MVP Tyler Kuchenbecker scored two goals Tuesday afternoon, and No. 15 Wellesley rallied to defeat No. 4 ranked Weymouth, 3-1, in Wellesley.

After their loss 2-1 loss to No. 2 Needham, the Raiders (1-1) could have given up after Weymouth (0-1-2) scored on an early penalty kick in Tuesday’s first half.

However, according to coach Tim Mason, his team has far too much character to let that happen.

“As a team we could have let our heads drop, but we just kept chopping away,” Mason said. “We really showed our character today.”
