Max Allen did it again for the Dennis-Yarmouth field hockey team.
He — yes, he — shut Falmouth down on Monday, making five saves in the No. 3 Dolphins’ 2-0 home win.
Dennis-Yarmouth (2-0) beat No. 15 Hingham, 5-0, in a game that also featured five saves from Allen to open its season last Wednesday.
“It’s not just him,” Dolphins coach Mary O’Connor said of her junior netminder. “The entire defense has done well. He had five saves, but our defense did a great job stopping Falmouth before they got to him.”
Offensively, junior Sarah Hollister scored an unassisted tally about seven minutes into the first half to put Dennis-Yarmouth up 1-0. Jess Benoit doubled the lead before halftime when she finished a well-placed cross from Hollister.
