NEW YORK—Andy Roddick is the top pick by the Philadelphia Freedoms in the World Team Tennis marquee draft.

In the draft announcement Thursday, the Albany-based New York Buzz chose Martina Hingis with the second pick and the St. Louis Aces took Lindsay Davenport with the third selection.

Kim Clijsters was acquired by the New York Sportimes from St. Louis, and will team up with John McEnroe for the summer league, which runs July 5-25.

Venus Williams will join her sister Serena on the Washington Kastles.

Maria Sharapova (Newport Beach, Calif.), Anna Kournikova (St. Louis) and James Blake (Boston) also will play in the coed professional league, co-founded by Billie Jean King.

Schedules will be completed this month for the league, which enters its 35th season.
