Wescott was born in Durham, N.C., but currently lives in Carrabassett Valley, Maine and trains at Sugarloaf.
Wescott began skiing at age 8 and switched permanently to snowboarding at age 13. Now 33, Wescott is one of the more senior members of the Olympic squad. He is the reigning gold medal winner in snowboardcross and has won seven medals in the Winter X games, but never gold in the yearly competition. He's also a three-time U.S. snowboarding champion and two-time world record holder.
