Germans top USA
Germany defeated the United States women’s field hockey team 4-2 at Olympic Green Hockey Stadium on Thursday. The U.S. record falls to 0-2-1 with two games remaining in pool play. Germany is atop the standings undefeated at 3-0.
Tiffany-Lynne Snow (Escondido, Calif.) and Angela Loy (Loysville, Pa.) each scored goals for the U.S. team in the 27th and 60th minute respectively.
US ties Japan
A goal by Kate Barber in the 58th minute gave the U.S. women's field hockey team a 1-1 draw with Japan in action at the Olympic Green Hockey Stadium Tuesday evening. The goal countered a score by Japan's Kaori Chiba in the 12th minute of the contest. The USA is now 0-0-2 in women's Pool B and will face Germany at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 14.
