Outfielder Minnie Minoso played in parts of five decades, making his final appearance in 1980 at age 54.
NHL Hall of Famer Gordie Howe also joined the five-decade club in 1980, playing alongside his son, Mark, at age 52 for the Hartford Whalers.
But Gordie wasn't done. In 1997, he signed a one-game contract with the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League, marking the sixth decade in which he had played professional hockey.
On that night in Detroit, Howe was congratulated by none other than Minnie Minoso (pictured).
