Vinatieri is the only kicker with two last-minute Super Bowl-winning field goals to his credit, and yet there may not be a more clutch kick in the annals of professional football than his game-tying boot late in the 2001 AFC Divisional Playoff matchup with the Oakland. Played in a classic New England snowstorm, with winds whipping up to 40 miles per hour, Vinatieri trotted on to the field with 32 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the Patriots trailing, 16-13. He punched a low line-drive that somehow fluttered over the crossbar, sending the game into overtime. A few minutes later, the Patriots prevailed, 19-16. A few weeks later, they were champions. Not a bad way to close out old Foxboro Stadium.
