Journalists Defy Stereotypes, Run Boston Marathon

There are lots of things that can be said about journalists, and plenty of them are not good. One of those not-so-good things is that many media folks could probably hit the gym a few more times each week.

Well, if you believe in that stereotype, prepare to eat your words. The 2014 Boston Marathon will see more than 36,000 runners go from Hopkinton, Massachusetts to Boylston Street in Boston, and a surprising number of those runners are journalists.

While there’s no definitive figure on exactly how many are running, Poynter pulled together some of the early Marathon Monday tweets from journalist runners.
